Sarah Ponce grew up in Waxahachie, TX and started creating artwork at an early age. When she was in elementary school she discovered that her fellow students would pay a dollar for a nice drawing of a cat, and thus her illustration career began.

Sarah went on to study art at the University of Texas at Austin, and then became a professional illustrator. She has illustrated five picture books, including the award winning titles Your Fantastic Elastic Brain and Spaghetti is NOT a Finger Food. Sarah currently resides in the beautifully creative city of Los Angeles where she spends most of her time illustrating and teaching her son Elijah how to finger-paint.
