Ruby is an illustrator living in Wellington, New Zealand. She is well known for her simple but impactful drawings that explore themes of love, relationships, mental health, and body image.

Ruby is best known for her drawing of two women embracing in a hug, penned with the words “This is your home and you should have been safe here,” which was shared widely online following the 2019 Christchurch terror attacks. After this, Ruby was invited to illustrate a cover for Time Magazine.

In 2020, Ruby partnered with Accor Hotels on a two-week residency at Allpress Studios in Auckland where she created a series of illustrations telling the stories of returning kiwis and frontline workers during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic. These works went on to feature in an exhibition first displayed at the Allpress Studio, and then on to the Waikato Museum and New Zealand Parliament. The collection has been permanently archived into the Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa.

Ruby’s commercial portfolio includes clients such as BIC, Nespresso, and Blis Probiotics. She has also worked on a number of campaigns with Amnesty International, the New Zealand Red Cross, Great Full, and the Kindness Collective. Ruby has a strong interest in social issues and hopes to continue working with organisations, brands, and charities that share her same values.

Ruby has released two books with Penguin Random House ANZ - All Of This Is For You (2019) and In This Body (2022).
