You want to know about ME?! Well, I am flattered. Let’s see. Where do I start?

I like drawing and I like books but you probably knew that already. 

I’m from Louisville, Kentucky and I still live there. Yes, I have ridden a horse. My dad used to have fourteen of them! So, can you guess what my favorite animal is? It is not a horse. It is a shark! I know! Weird, right? I don’t live in or by the ocean or anything. Being a certified SCUBA diver, I have got to meet and swim with some sharks. Thankfully, I still have all my body parts. 

Drawing has been a part of my life for a very long time. Do you know any kids at school who would draw Charlie Brown and Snoopy? You DO? Did we go to school together? I was that kid. My favorite books were Danny and the Dinosaur, Go Dog Go!, The Giving Tree and The Cat in the Hat (and any book about sharks). Therefore some of my favorite artists are Syd Hoff, P.D. Eastman, Shel Silverstein and Dr. Seuss. As well as Chuck Jones, and of course, Charles Schulz. 

I almost went to art school for animation, but instead got a B.F.A. in Communication Art & Design. Which is a fancy way of saying graphic design. Still, I’ve been an animator and storyboard artist for a kid’s educational series and created an animated cartoon of my favorite band for their Las Vegas show at the MGM Grand. 

I love being an illustrator and storyteller!
