Hillary Godwin
Literary Agent Assistant
Hillary became a Literary Agent Assistant in May 2024 after joining the team as an intern the year prior. While reading submissions, she is always looking for stories with compelling character dynamics, a unique voice, and something meaningful to say.
When reading for fun, she often gravitates toward speculative fiction with socially conscious themes and a rebellious spirit. Above all, she remains convinced that a great story has the power to change the world.
Before Stimola she was a submission reader for agented manuscripts at Roaring Brook Press (Macmillan) for two years. Before that she was an author events coordinator at an independent bookstore, and previously spent a year working with acquired manuscripts as an editorial intern at Charlesbridge Publishing. Working with books is all she’s ever wanted to do, and she’s thrilled to have landed at Stimola, where she assists some of the most passionate and dedicated agents in the industry.
Hillary holds an M.A. in Children’s Literature from Simmons University and a B.A. from Bryn Mawr College. She lives in the Washington, D.C. area with her partner and very chatty cat.
