Ellen Hagan s a writer, performer, and educator. She is the author of All That Shines; Don’t Call Me a Hurricane; Reckless, Glorious, Girl; and the coauthor with Renée Watson of Watch Us Rise.

Ellen is Head of Poetry & Theatre Departments at the DreamYard Project and directs their International Poetry Exchange Program. She co-leads the Alice Hoffman Young Writer’s Retreat at Adelphi University and is on the faculty of the MFA program at Spalding University.
