Julie Halpern

Julie Halpern is the author of seven books for young adults from Feiwel and Friends.

Get Well Soon won the National Alliance of Mental Illness’ Ken Book Award for an outstanding literary contribution to a better understanding of mental illness. Into the Wild Nerd Yonder won the South Carolina Book Award for Young Adults.

Her other books include Don’t Stop Now, Have a Nice Day, The F-It List, Meant to Be, and The Girl on the Ferris Wheel, co-written with Len Vlahos, and Toby and the Snowflakes (Houghton Mifflin), illustrated by her husband, Caldecott-winner Matthew Cordell.

In her imaginary spare time, she enjoys traveling, making cosplay for her kids, attending various nerd conventions, finding ways to make the world a kinder place, and eating baked goods.

Together, Matthew and Julie live in suburban Chicago with their two kids and one tabby cat.
